Agartala, October 18, 2023: : In a distressing incident, a dedicated worker, Asim Banik, suffered a severe fall while constructing the Santirbazar Motor Stand Puja Mandap, underscoring the perilous conditions faced by laborers in the region. The incident occurred around 8:30 pm on Tuesday, casting a spotlight on the pressing need for enhanced safety measures.
Following the accident, Banik was swiftly rescued and transported to Shantir Bazar Hospital. However, the attending physician deemed his condition critical, leading to an urgent referral to GB Hospital for specialized care. As of now, Asim Banik is undergoing treatment at GB Hospital, battling for his life.
