Agartala, August 18, 2022: Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder on Thursday inaugurated a workshop organized in presence of mayor-in-councils, councillor and commissioner on on hepatitis and injectable drug users and various programs of National Health Mission at the conference hall of the Corporation.
Addressing the workshop, Majumder said “A citizen with a healthy body can play an important role in the development of the state as well as the country. So it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that the citizens of a society can live a healthy life.”
He said that the present government of the state has taken great initiatives for the development of health services in the state. Placing importance on creating awareness in order to be disease free, he said, if we are aware then we can be free from many diseases. The common people needs to be more widely informed about the issue. He expressed hope that the councillors of Agartala Municipal Corporation will also play an important role in this regard.
AMC Deputy Mayor Manika Das Datta was present in this workshop organized by West District Health and Family Welfare Society. Commissioner of AMC Shailesh Kumar Yadav spoke about the program of the National Health Mission. West District’s Chief Medical Officer Dr Debasish Das delivered the welcome speech. Dr Abhijit Das discussed hepatitis A, B, C and E in the workshop. District Project Manager of National Health Mission Subhadip Lodh discussed various projects of National Health Mission in the workshop. Health Officer Ishita Guha was present.
