Agartala, 9th September 2026 : A workshop on “Facilitation of Border Customs & Trade” was organised at the Conference Hall of the Circuit House in Belonia on Wednesday by the District Administration, South Tripura, in collaboration with the Customs Division, Agartala, Department of Revenue, Government of India.
The workshop was organised following the direction of the Union Home Minister and was attended by local traders and merchants. Sanjiv Choudhary, Assistant Commissioner, Customs Division, Agartala, delivered the keynote address.
The programme focused on facilitating legal exports and promoting smoother border trade. Officials highlighted the potential for expanding legitimate trade activities in the region and encouraged local youth to explore export opportunities through legal channels.
The initiative is expected to strengthen border trade, create new economic opportunities and contribute to the overall economic development of South Tripura.
