Agartala, June 03, 2023: Bicycles have a major role to play in controlling pollution. There is no air, noise pollution with bicycles. The third day of June is World Bicycle Day and this day is being celebrated since 2018.
On Saturday, a bicycle rally was organized in the capital city under the initiative of the West District Chief Medical Officer, keeping the idea of ‘Bicycle for Health’ in mind. West District Chief Medical Officer Dr Debasish Das inaugurated the rally and also participated in the rally.
The procession started from the front of the West District CMO’s office at the Palace Compound and circled the various routes of the city. This day is celebrated in every district headquarters. The number of vehicles is increasing due to the development of technology. But the use of bicycles should be increased to keep the environment and people physically healthy, said West District Chief Medical Officer Dr. Debasish Das.
