Agartala, 20th November 2025: A young man from Gokulpur in Udaipur East, identified as Wasim Hossain, has alleged that he was brutally assaulted by the family members of a minor girl with whom he had been in contact for the past four years. According to Wasim, their communication had intensified over the last four months, and they spoke several times daily over the phone.
On Thursday, shortly after 3 p.m., the minor girl reportedly called Wasim and asked him to come to her house. Wasim said he went there immediately. Upon his arrival, the girl’s parents and relatives allegedly took him into a room and assaulted him severely.
Wasim, who later spoke to journalists, confirmed the incident and claimed the beating continued until around 5 a.m. He is currently undergoing treatment in the surgical ward of Gomati District Hospital due to multiple injuries.
Following the incident, Wasim has lodged a formal complaint at the local police station against the girl’s parents and relatives. Police are now investigating the case to determine the accuracy of the allegations.
The incident has created widespread tension and discussion in the locality.
