Agartala, 15th October 2025: A young software engineer from Kerala, Anandu Aji, tragically ended his life after allegedly being subjected to repeated sexual harassment by RSS leaders during and after his involvement in RSS shakhas.
The incident has sparked outrage, with the Tripura Youth Congress staging protests demanding justice for the deceased.
On Wednesday, Youth Congress leaders organized a procession from the Congress Bhavan to the Paradise Chowmuhani City Center, where they held a public protest. The demonstration escalated as protesters blocked roads and burned effigies. Clashes reportedly broke out with the police during the protest, resulting in the arrest of several protesters who were later taken to the AD Nagar Police Lines.
Speaking to the media, Tripura Youth Congress President Neelkamal Saha stated that Anandu, an IT professional from Kerala, took his life after enduring years of alleged abuse. “Before committing suicide, he made a social media post alleging physical abuse by multiple RSS members,” Saha said. “He was suffering from various mental health issues and ultimately could not bear the trauma any longer.”
Saha emphasized the seriousness of the allegations, urging authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and hold the RSS members involved accountable. “The torture, pain, and mental trauma that Anandu endured cannot be forgotten,” he added.
The Youth Congress condemned the incident as a reflection of the “dark and hypocritical reality” of the RSS and BJP leadership and vowed to continue their protest until justice is served.
The case has drawn widespread attention, raising concerns over abuse, mental health, and accountability in organizations associated with youth and political movements.
