Agartala, 2nd July 2025: Panic spread through Chitra Sen Karbari Para under Manu police station in Dhalai district this morning after locals found the dead body of an unidentified young man in an agricultural field along the Manu River, near the Manu Rail Bridge.
Upon receiving the alert, officers from Manu police station rushed to the scene and recovered the body. Initial inspection revealed multiple injury marks, prompting police to suspect foul play. Locals alleged that the youth might have been brutally assaulted, possibly in connection with accusations of vegetable theft.
“We have registered a case of murder and begun a thorough investigation. The body has been sent for autopsy to ascertain the exact cause of death,” a police official confirmed.
Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas and questioning local residents to identify the victim and trace those responsible.
