Agartala, 29th June 2024: The Yuva Vikash Kendra (YVK) successfully distributed 20 goats to 10 tribal families in Binapani Village on Saturday as part of Integrated Farming Project for 2023-24. This initiative is sponsored by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).
The project aims to empower women farmers in tribal communities and promote sustainable development. YVK President Debashis Majumder was present during the distribution ceremony and engaged in a discussion with the women beneficiaries about the project’s goals and objectives. The program was successfully managed by Sevior Debbarma, Project Coordinator, and Pratima Debbarma, Secretary of YVK.
YVK highlighted this project as a pilot initiative designed to support tribal families in achieving sustainable development. The distribution of goats as part of this integrated farming project, which is expected to equip women farmers with the necessary skills and resources to generate income and improve their livelihoods.
This project is a testament to YVK’s commitment to promoting sustainable farming practices in tribal communities. By providing two goats per family, YVK empowers women farmers to raise livestock, generate manure for natural fertilizer, and create a more sustainable agricultural ecosystem.
