Agartala, 10th October 2025 : Debashis Majumder, the President of Yuva Vikash Kendra (YVK), the youth-led organization from Tripura met with Vijay Goel, Vice Chairman of Gandhi Smriti & Darshan Samiti at Tees January Marg, New Delhi today to formally share plans for the upcoming International Youth Festival – Heritage Fest 2025 scheduled from 20 to 26 November 2025 in Agartala.
The President of YVK presented the festival’s vision to Goel, emphasizing that this will be the 4th edition of the event, with a core focus on promoting integration, peace, harmony, and cultural exchange among youth from across India and abroad. The aim, he explained, is to strengthen bonds of brotherhood through shared heritage and dialogue.
Goel responded with warm congratulations to the organizers. He expressed his appreciation for YVK’s sustained efforts in organizing the festival repeatedly and lauded the theme of fostering communal harmony. Upon learning that the festival was being organized for the fourth time, he assured that he would make efforts to attend the event in person this year, subject to his schedule.
During the meeting, both sides also discussed the wider activities of Yuva Vikash Kendra in Tripura. YVK, founded in Agartala in 2014, works with more than 2,000 volunteers and is engaged in multiple programs focused on youth empowerment, women’s development, rural inclusion, education, and cultural outreach across various districts of Tripura.
Goel, who serves as Vice Chairperson of the Gandhi Smriti & Darshan Samiti under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of India, brings with him a long record of public service and advocacy for Gandhian values.
In his remarks, Goel commended the organizers for sustaining the festival over years and said such initiatives help integrate younger generations toward the ideals of peace and unity. He further expressed interest in exploring collaboration opportunities between GSDS and YVK for future cultural and educational programs.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to the success of the Heritage Fest 2025, and with a resolve to strengthen ties between national heritage institutions and grassroots youth organizations.
