Union Home Minister Amit Shah called up Tamil Nadu
Chief Minster M.K.Stalin to enquire about the damages caused due to Cyclone
Michaung and promised to offer full support to the state in relief and rescue
works.
An official release said during the telephonic talk, Mr Stalin explained
about the damages caused by the Cyclone and the relief works being
undertaken by the government in Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur
and Chengalpattu district.
Mr Stalin also informed the Union Minister that personnel from the
NDRF along with the State government and police officials were
jointly involved in relief works.
Mr Stalin also urged Mr Amit Shah to despatch additional NDRF personnel
to the state for relief operations.
He also said after estimating the damages caused by the cyclone, necessary
assistance would be sought from the Union Government.
Accepting Mr Stalin’s request, Mr Amit Shah promised that the Centre
would offer all support to the state government in the relief works.
