Arunachal Pradesh Home and Inter-State Border Affairs Minister Bamang Felix called on the State Governor Brig (Retd) Dr BD Mishra at Raj Bhavan here on Friday.
They discussed law and order, and inter-state boundary issues said a communiqué from the Raj Bhavan.
During the meeting, the Governor emphasized that all efforts should be made to instill a sense of security among the people, particularly the vulnerable section of society. He said that the security forces, particularly the State Police have to reach out to them and take care of their wellbeing.
The Governor also shared his concerns about the security of villagers in remote habitats in Tirap, Changlang and Longding districts.
“The developmental projects and schemes for the people must reach their doorsteps,” the Governor said while commending the State Government’s endeavour of ‘Seva Aapke Dwar’ and ‘Hamara Arunachal Abhiyan’ – a mass movement aimed to educate the people and eradicate the social evils.
The Governor, while appreciating the State Government initiative for solving the decades-old boundary issues with neighbouring Assam, advised the Minister to expedite the process to provide solace to the affected people at the earliest.
He said that the aim should be to strengthen amity amongst the people and peace and tranquillity in the boundary areas, peace within the State and check on unreasonable bandh call to avoid difficulties for our own people, the communiqué added.
