Assembly election: Kejriwal releases AAP’s manifesto with 15 guarantees

Date:

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has released its manifesto for the next month Assembly election with 15 guarantees, including employment and the women’s dignity scheme.

While releasing the manifesto on Monday, AAP’s national convener and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “Kejriwal’s guarantees are solid,” emphasising that free electricity for 24 hours, free water, free education, free pilgrimage for senior citizens, free bus travel for women, and free medical treatment in hospitals and Mohalla Clinics will continue in Delhi.

He alleged, “BJP leaders and spokespersons have made it clear in their speeches that if their government comes to power, these free schemes will be discontinued.”

“There will be a guarantee of employment for the youth of Delhi. Under the Women’s Dignity Scheme, every woman will receive Rs 2,100 per month directly into their bank accounts. The Sanjeevani Scheme will guarantee treatment for senior citizens above 60 years, with all medical expenses covered by the Delhi government. Incorrect water bills will be waived off. Additionally, the manifesto includes uninterrupted clean water supply, cleaning the Yamuna River, making Delhi’s roads world-class, and offering scholarships under the Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship Scheme for Dalit children to study at foreign universities,” Kejriwal announced.

“Students will get free bus rides, and metro fares will be reduced by 50 percent. Under the Priest and Granthi Scheme, priests will receive an honorarium of Rs 18,000 per month. Tenants will also be entitled to benefits from electricity and water bill subsidies,” the former CM added.

The AAP National Convenor further said that clogged sewers in various areas will be cleared within 15 days of forming the government. Ration cards will also be issued to benefit the poor. AAP’s government will provide Rs 1 lakh as assistance for the wedding of auto, taxi, and e-rickshaw drivers’ daughters. Additionally, life insurance of Rs 10 lakh and health insurance of Rs 5 lakh will be provided.

To improve Delhi’s law and order, RWAs (Resident Welfare Associations) will be empowered to hire private security guards, he said.
