“In order to support the affected families, we have decided to provide financial assistance,” she said.
Banerjee said each affected family in Bengal will receive Rs 5 lakh, while those with severe injuries will receive Rs 1 lakh. Those with minor injuries will be given ₹25,000, and individuals who have not sustained physical injuries but are traumatized will receive Rs 10,000.
“We will also offer an additional ₹2,000 per month for the next three months, along with essential food items such as rice and lentils.
