Six people were killed and five injured in a road accident on the over bridge on NH-31 under Bakhtiyarpur police station area in Patna district in wee hours on Tuesday.
Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Barh Abhishek Singh told media persons that a four wheeler private vehicle rammed into a roadside parked truck on NH-31. Four out of 11 passengers in the vehicle died on the spot, while seven others sustained injuries in the incident, he added.
“All seven injured were admitted to a local hospital, where one of them died during treatment,” SDPO said, adding that the rest of the six injured were referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), where one of them succumbed to injuries.
Singh said that the deceased had not been identified so far. Drowsiness of the driver could be the reason behind the accident, he apprehended.
As per reports, all the victims were coming from Hisua, Nawada district, to take a bath in the Holy Ganga River when the incident took place.
