BJP plans to win Delhi election by deleting names of Purvanchalis from voter list: Singh

Date:

Ahead of the elections, the political battle in Delhi has intensified as Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Wednesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of planning to win by attempting to “remove” the names of Purvanchali residents from the voter list.

Addressing the media, Singh claimed that the BJP submitted applications to delete thousands of votes by labelling Purvanchalis as Rohingyas and Bangladeshis.

Alleging that the BJP has no agenda other than spreading lies, Singh said, “On January 4, 2024, my wife filed an application with the District Electoral Office in Sultanpur to delete her name from there. My mother’s and father’s names are on the voter list, but neither my wife’s name nor mine is there on the list.”

“The BJP is claiming that my name was on the voter list in Sultanpur during the 2018 municipal elections. The municipal voter list is prepared by Chief Minister Yogi Ji’s employees. Even after I applied to have my name deleted, if it still appeared, the responsibility lies with the employee who prepared the voter list,” Singh added.

He further alleged that the BJP is trying to win by cutting the votes of Purvanchalis in Delhi, but the Aam Aadmi Party has foiled their plans by exposing this conspiracy.

Referring to Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s letter to Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, Singh remarked, “I am surprised that they still have the audacity to talk about farmers.”

“They (BJP) have ignored farmers, and the MSP law is still not implemented. It is because of this party that (farmer leader) Dallewal Ji is on strike. It is also because of this party that farmers in Maharashtra are forced to commit suicide,” Singh claimed.
