Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath here on Thursday.
The meeting lasted for 35 minutes which was held in a hotel.
Akshay Kumar requested Adityanath to watch his recently released film ‘Ram Sethu’.
He also said he is looking forward to the inauguration of the Uttar Pradesh Film City, which is being developed by the Uttar Pradesh government, and this film city will provide a new option for the Hindi film industry.
Yogi Adityanath opined that films play an important role in creating social awareness, creating public awareness and promoting social and national works. He also said the filmmakers should give importance to issues of social and national consciousness while choosing the subject.
His government will soon implement a new film policy with a single window clearance system, he added. He also said the film city of Uttar Pradesh will be world class. Akshay Kumar told Adityanath that there is a lot of excitement in the Indian film industry about the new Film City project coming up.
