A brief spell of light to moderate rainfall waterlogged several city areas of Srinagar and its adjacent areas causing inconvenience to the commuters and school going children on Monday.
Officials said several low lying areas in Srinagar were waterlogged due to the rain in the morning that blocked drainage systems leading to water accumulation and throwing life out of gear.
The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has predicted brief spells of rain and thundershower at a few places during day with spells of light to moderate rain and thundershower at many places of Jammu and Kashmir towards night or early morning till August 7.
The weather office has issued an advisory that due to intense showers there is a possibility of flash floods/cloud bursts/landslides/mudslides and shooting stones over vulnerable places of J&K and heavy rainfall at few places of J&K during the next three days.
