A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team arrived in Goa on Friday to take over the investigation into the death of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and actress Sonali Phogat.
The team is likely to visit the Anjuna Police Station, the hotel where Sonali stayed and the Curlies night club for further investigation, a police official said.
On September 12, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced the case would be handed over to the CBI.
Sonali, who hailed from Hisar in Haryana, was brought dead to a private hospital in Anjuna on August 23.
Though initially it was reported that Sonali had died of heart attack, the postmortem revealed multiple blunt injuries on her body.
The police arrested five people in connection with the death. Two were booked for murder and three under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
