The Central Government has called for an all-party meeting on July 19, ahead of the Parliamentary Monsoon Session, an official statement said on Thursday.
The session will commence on July 20 and continue until August 11 in the old building.
Earlier, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi urged all parties to contribute towards productive discussions on Legislative Business and other items during the Monsoon Session.
The Monsoon Session, 2023 of Parliament will commence on July 20 and continue until August 11. Urge all parties to contribute towards productive discussions on Legislative Business and other items during the Monsoon Session,” Joshi tweeted.
He further added that “there will be a total of 17 sittings in this session, lasting 23 days”. In this session, Manipur violence, the Delhi ordinance that curtails the powers of the elected State government, and the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), among others, are the major issues that will be discussed.
The Opposition would also want a structured debate on the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), which the Prime Minister pitched for during his recent speech in Madhya Pradesh.
Meanwhile, to date, several political parties have not come out with a clear position on the UCC.
