The Indian Space Research Organisation
(ISRO) on Wednesday said the powered descent of Lander Module
(ML) on board its third Lunar Mission Chandrayaan-3 will commence
at 5.44 p.m for a soft landing on the moon at 6.04 p.m this evening.
It said the stage was set for initiating the Automatic Landing Sequence
(ALS) after which the powered descent process will begin with the
activating of throttleable engines in the LM for powered descent.
In an update ISRO, sharing the photos scientists working on the
Mission at Mission Operations Complex (MOX) at ISRO Telemetry,
Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC), Bengaluru, said
“Chandrayaan-3 Mission: All set to initiate the Automatic Landing
Sequence (ALS).”
“Awaiting the arrival of Lander Module (LM) at the designated point,
around 17:44 Hrs. IST”, ISRO posted in “X’ (formerly twitter).
Upon receiving the ALS command, the LM activates the throttleable
engines for powered descent, it added.
The mission operations team will keep confirming the sequential
execution of commands.
