Child Welfare budget for 2025-26 increases by 17.63 percent in Bihar

Bihar government has made a total budget provision of Rs 64554.03 crore for child welfare schemes in the financial year 2025-26, which is 17.63 percent more than the amount provisioned in the financial year 2024-25 of Rs 54878.21 crore.

Bihar Finance Minister Samrat Choudhary tabled the Child Welfare Budget 2025-26 during the pre-lunch sitting in the state assembly on Monday. The total expenditure on child welfare is expected to increase at an annual rate of 19.43 percent from Rs 7825.7 crore in 2013-14 to Rs 48862.04 crore by 2023-24.

Choudhary said here today that during the same period, expenditure per child in the State has increased 5.9 times from Rs 1559 in 2013-14 to Rs 9271 in 2023-24.
