CM Rekha Gupta attack case: Accused wanted to ‘kill’ CM’s throat

Date:

In a latest update in the Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta attack case, it has been learnt that the main accused Rajeshbhai wanted to kill the Chief Minister.
According to sources, Rajeshbhai confessed that he took a knife from a vegetable cart outside the New Delhi Railway Station for this purpose. However, he couldn’t take the knife inside Chief Minister’s house due to heavy security.
The sources said the second accused Tahseen Sayed knew about Rajesh’s plan. Rajesh told Tahseen that they had to do something big.
According to the police, accused Rajesh had come to Delhi and his friend Tahseen Sayed was aware of his intentions.
”Both accused, Rajesh and Tahseen, are dog lovers. The police interrogated Tahseen and Rajesh by making them sit face-to-face. During the interrogation, Tahseen said he would not spare anyone who came in his way. During the entire planning and the incident, communication between Rajesh and Tahseen was ongoing, and Tahseen had told Rajesh everything,” said a police source.
The Delhi Police has now added to the existing First Information Report (FIR) the charge of criminal conspiracy under Section 120-B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), now Section 61 of the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Tahseen was arrested from Rajkot and has also been booked under the stringent Section 61 of the BNS pertaining to criminal conspiracy.
“Rajesh felt the Chief Minister was an easier target than the Supreme Court. Rajesh told Tahseen that he would kill CM,” the sources said.
Police took Rajesh to the Gujarat Bhawan where he had stayed for the night and also to the location where he had thrown the knife. The police took Rajesh to the railway station from where he had picked the knife.
Meanwhile the custodial remand of the main accused, Rajeshbhai, is scheduled to end today, raising questions about the next steps in the investigation.
