Cong wants to take MP back in time : Modi

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleged on Monday that the Congress wishes to take Madhya Pradesh back to the 20th century when it kept the state in paucity as its rule was characterised by kuneeti (abysmal policy), kushasan (pathetic governance) and rampant corruption.

Addressing the BJP’s Karyakarta Mahakumbh at Jamboree Ground in the capital of this election-bound state, the visiting dignitary alleged, “The Congress converted a capable state into a Bimaru one.

The law and order situation, roads and electricity supply were nothing short of dismal. It later made a fake guarantee regarding loan waiver and spread untruth regarding the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. It said that Mr Modi will take the funds back subsequent to the polls!”

The Prime Minister delivered his 50-minute-long speech in conversational style, posing several rhetorical questions. He touched on milestones crossed by the Centre vis-à-vis poverty alleviation, agriculture, health, education, banking, investment, housing, water supply, G20 and combating the pandemic.

Earlier, Mr Modi reached the venue – from the helipad – in an open vehicle that also carried Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and BJP state President Vishnu Datt Sharma.

This day also marks the confluence and conclusion of the saffron party’s Jan Ashirwad Yatras that traversed almost all 230 Assembly constituencies. In a tit-for-tat response, the principal-opposition Congress has taken out Jan Aakrosh Yatras.

Over the past six months, the PM visited Madhya Pradesh on more than a half-a-dozen occasions.
