Congress complains to EC against Devendra Fadnavis, Ram Satpute

Date:

Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee chief spokesperson Atul Londhe on Monday wrote a letter to the Election Commission demanding to file a case against state deputy chief minister and Home minister Devendra Fadnavis and his immediate dismissal from the post of Home minister for allegedly violating the model code of conduct (MCC).

In a letter addressed to state chief Electrol officer, he complained that Fadnavis has allegedly violated the code of conduct by misusing his position.

In a recent public meeting organised for campaigning of Ram Satpute, the candidate of BJP for the Solapur

Lok Sabha constituency, he had urged Fadnavis to withdraw the cases filed against some members of the community during the Covid era.

At that time, the Home minister had assured attendees in that meeting that the cases will be withdrawn.

It is a violation of the code of conduct to induce electorate and promise in such a way during the election period, the Congress leader said.

Still, Fadnavis misled the voters by making promises to lure them, he pointed out.

Londhe demanded that the candidature of BJP’s Ram Satpute from Solapur should be cancelled.
