Convergence, collaboration, and cooperation are a must for delivering results for children

Date:

Stakeholders have underscored the importance of cohesive strategies and coordinated action to ensure equitable outcomes for every child.

This emphasis emerged during a one-day roundtable discussion to develop a comprehensive five-year roadmap for Early Childhood Education (ECE) in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

The Jammu and Kashmir Association of Social Workers (JKASW) organized the event in collaboration with the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Mission Poshan, and UNICEF. It brought together a diverse group of participants, including government officials and leading NGOs.

The event also witnessed the participation of prominent NGOs such as NDF, Pratham, Chinar International, Koshish, Kaivalaya, and HWO Helpline.

The participants deliberated over key issues such as inclusive education, gender & equity, and community mobilisation to achieve equitable results for every child.

The need for collaboration and synergy among stakeholders was highlighted, with officials from the School Education Department (SED) and Mission Poshan committing to align their efforts to achieve optimal outcomes.

A proposal for an ECE consortium at the UT level was also proposed by JKASW.

The discussion also deliberated on the effective implementation of EWS (Early Warning System) to reduce the incidence of school dropouts, enhance retention, undertake evidence-based planning, and analyze data to attain education objectives as envisaged in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The consultation was attended by the Joint Director Elementary DSEK, officials from the State Council of Educational Research & Trainings (SCERT), Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education (JKBOSE), NGO representatives, and UNICEF.
