Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal skips ED summons

Date:

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday skipped Enforcement Directorate (ED) summons after he was asked to appear before the probe agency for questioning in connection with the alleged liquor policy scam.

In a letter to the ED director, Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Kejriwal alleged that the summons appeared to be “motivated” and issued at the behest of the ruling party at the Centre.

The AAP posted on X, “The notice has been sent to Kejriwal with the intention of stopping him from campaigning in four states.”

The investigation team called Kejriwal on Thursday to question him about the purported Delhi liquor policy scam.

The latest development comes amid the sleuths of the ED conducting raids at several premises linked to Delhi minister Raaj Kumar Anand for alleged money laundering.

Last month, the ED arrested AAP leader and MP Sanjay Singh after raids at his residence. The probe agency had questioned him for over 10 hours in a case linked to the Delhi liquor policy. He was the third AAP leader to be taken into custody in relation to the alleged scam.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was arrested in February, and Vijay Nair in November, 2022.

In April this year, the Central Bureau of Investigation questioned Arvind Kejriwal at its Delhi headquarters in connection with the case and recorded his statement. UNI CM ARN SY SSP
