Demand for removal of K K Pathak rocks Bihar Assembly

Date:

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar lost his cool over the demands of the opposition for removal of additional chief secretary of the education department K K Pathak and said he is an honest officer and the demand of his removal was improper.

Intervening into the ruckus created by the opposition led by the RJD from the well of the house during the pre-lunch sitting of the state assembly on Wednesday, Kumar said Pathak is the most honest officer whom the opposition was demanding to remove from his post.

Dubbing the demand of the opposition as totally un-ethical, Kumar strongly favoured Pathak saying that he is an officer who was not involved in any regularity and was doing his work with utmost commitment and honesty.

Visibly angry at the demands of the opposition and the slogans shouted by them from the well of the house against him, Kumar asked them to keep on shouting “murdabad” slogans against him and added that he wished them to remain alive and keep on shouting such slogans. Kumar said as much as they shout murdabad slogan against him they would automatically meet their end.

Pointing towards RJD led opposition, Kumar said their number would be lesser in the house after next assembly elections and they would not get even a single seat.

The Chief Minister said if the opposition wants to shout slogans they should prefer to remain at their home instead of attending the house.

Kumar said it was RJD which was indulged in irregularities in the previous grand alliance Government and now he has rectified each and every irregularity.

Regarding timing of schools, the Chief Minister said that according to the latest order the school timings have been changed and now it would function from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

He said that the teachers however will have to come to the school 15 minutes before the school timing and would leave the school after 15 minutes of dismissal. The Chief Minister said it is a general practice in every educational institution and action would be initiated in case anyone found not complying with the orders.

The opposition members however continue to shout slogans from the well of the house.

Intervening into the situation the education minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary said that on the suggestions of leaders of various parties in the house the chief minister had announced for the change in the school timings and now there was no confusion on it.

Earlier as the house assembled for the day the opposition members led by RJD raised the issue of school timings. Shouting slogans against the government the opposition members trooped to the well and created pandemonium demanding removal of K K pathak from his post.

Speaker Nand Kishor Yadav on several occasions requested the opposition members to resume their seats but the opposition continued to create ruckus from the well of the house. The speaker said that it seems the opposition intends to hijack the house.
