Devotees flock to Triveni Sangam on 6th day of Saraswati Pushkaralu, chant prayers and perform rituals

Date:

Chanting the sacred hymn “Kaleeshwara Nivasova, Kaleshwara Nirikshanam, Kaleshwarasya Samaranam Sarvapaapa Vinasanam,” lakhs of devotees thronged the banks of Triveni Sangam on the sixth day of Saraswati Pushkaralu to take the holy dip.

A spiritual atmosphere enveloped the confluence as pilgrims from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Maharashtra, and Karnataka gathered to offer prayers and participate in the Pushkara rituals. The sacred Triveni Sangam witnessed a surge in footfall as devotees took holy baths in the inner Saraswati river and offered sacred water with devotion.

According to the Puranas, each of the first 12 days of Pushkaralu holds a unique spiritual significance. On the sixth day, offerings of medicines, camphor, sandalwood, and musk are believed to bring special merit.

Devotees embraced this belief by making appropriate donations and following traditional rituals, reinforcing the age-old message of living in harmony with nature—a core aspect of Sanatana Dharma.

In view of the massive turnout, the district administration, under the supervision of District Collector Rahul Sharma, implemented robust safety measures. Barricades were installed at the Pushkara Ghats, and rescue personnel including lifeguards, NDRF teams, Singareni rescue squads, and boats were deployed to ensure the safety of pilgrims and prevent accidents.

The atmosphere remains charged with devotion and spiritual fervor as the Pushkaralu continues to draw worshippers seeking blessings and inner purification.
