Don’t use derogatory language against Smriti Irani: Rahul

Date:

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Friday urged Congress supporters not to use derogatory language against former Union Minister and BJP leader Smriti Irani and said that ‘humiliating people is a sign of weakness and not strength’.

On his social media post X, the former Congress president said, “Winning and losing happen in life. I urge everyone to refrain from using derogatory language and being nasty towards Smt. Smriti Irani or any other leader for that matter”.

He further said, “Humiliating and insulting people is a sign of weakness, not strength”.

It may be mentioned that after losing the Lok Sabha election, Irani had to vacate the government bungalow. This had invited some sharp reactions on the social media from people saying that it was the same Irani who had asked Gandhi to vacate his residence after he was disqualified as Lok Sabha MP.
