University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman M. Jagadeesh Kumar has said that E-University would be established soon to promote digital education in the country .
He told media persons here on Saturday that as many as 90 Crore people were utilising broadband services, following steps taken to digitalise the education system.
He said Universities and the educational institutions concerned should set up common service centres in colleges to promote digital education .
The Chairman further said plans were underway for starting a national research center to strengthen the research and development wing and Rs.50,000 cores would be spent on research through the centre in the next five years .
Jagadeesh Kumar praised the AP Council for Higher Education for taking the lead in implementing the educational reforms and the central education policy .
