) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has released the notification for the fourth phase of general elections, marking the commencement of the nomination process on Thursday.
The ECI has issued a gazette notification for elections to 96 Lok Sabha seats across ten states, including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, as well as by-elections to the Cantonment Assembly constituency in Secunderabad.
In Telangana, nominations will commence on Thursday at 1100 hours and will be accepted until April 25.
The scrutiny of nominations will take place on April 26, with the list of shortlisted candidates announced on April 29.
Polling is scheduled for May 13, and the results will be declared on June 4.
Among the 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state, two are reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST) and three for Scheduled Castes (SC).
The nomination fee for Lok Sabha candidates is Rs 25,000, while Legislative Assembly candidates must pay Rs 10,000. SC and ST candidates are required to pay 50 per cent of these amounts.
