Farmers announce to march to Delhi

Date:

Farmers will resume march to Delhi as soon as borders are opened to demand the Union government to fulfill its promises made to farmers in 2021

The announcement to this effect was made by Jagjit Singh Dallewal in Chandigarh after a meeting of various farmer organisations’ leaders.

Last week, hearing multiple petitions, the Punjab and Haryana High Court asked the Haryana government to open the Shambhu and Khanauri borders within a week. The Haryana government has approached the Supreme Court.

Dallewal said farmers were not making any new demands and only asking the Union government to fulfill its promises made to farmers in 2021.

Farmers demands included a law guaranteeing MSP. However, the Haryana government sealed its Punjab borders with concrete blocks, and barricades. Since then, farmers have been camping at Shambhu border.
