Fire destroyed paper stocks & shade completely in Bengal


A major fire completely destroyed a medium sized godown where all stocked of papers turned to ashes along with the shade at Ultadanga in the north-eastern part of the city in the wee hours on Saturday.

The fire fighters, who deployed as many as 10 combat vehicles, however, evacuated some people with the assistance of local people, who were on night duty, the official sources said.

Two vehicles, including a three-wheeler auto were also charred near the godown located at Dhankol area.

The blaze, was first first noticed around 01 00 hours, was brought under control within three hours with help of fire fighting personnel, who deployed ten well-equipped vehicles.
