Four persons were killed and nearly two dozen injured when a truck rammed into a double-decker bus in Ramnagar area in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district on Saturday, police sources said.
The bus carrying around 80 passengers was on its way to Goa from Nepal. At Ramnagar, when the bus driver was changing a deflated tyre, a speeding truck hit the stationary bus, injuring several passengers.
The sources said the injured were rushed to the district hospital where four of them succumbed to their injuries.
Three of the were identified as Prem Tharu, Sheetal and Chakra Bahadur.
Two persons who sustained serious injuries were referred to the trauma center in Lucknow. All passengers were said to be migrant workers from Nepal.
