Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo on Wednesday described the murder of three members of a farmer family in Fatehpur district here in Uttar Pradesh as a weakness in law and order and said the government should take strict legal action against the culprits and provide justice to the victim’s family.
Taking to X, Mayawati wrote, “People are being exploited and harassed on every small issue in UP every day, under which recently three Kshatriya/Thakurs and a Dalit person from the same farmer family of Fatehpur district have been murdered, due to which there is a lot of panic among the people there.”
She said, “The government should take strict legal action against the culprits and provide timely justice to the victim’s family and also pay special attention to improving the law and order.”
It may be noted that on Tuesday a Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader was shot dead along with his brother and son in the Hathgam area of Fatehpur. In this case, the police have arrested two accused while four others are being searched.
