Govt with everyone in suffering and crisis: Yogi

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday provided financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the senior press photographer DK Gupta and Bhojpuri singer Santaraj Gorakhpuri.

Yogi called on the relatives of DK Gupta and Santaraj Gorakhpuri at his meeting room at Gorakhnath Temple in the morning and expressed deep condolences for their losses. He presented cheques of Rs 5 lakh each from the discretionary fund.

The CM also assured the families of both that he and his government stand by them at all times in their times of grief and distress. He had a cordial conversation with the members of both families and offered that they could contact him in case of any need.

Kusum Gupta, wife of DK Gupta, and Bindu Devi, wife of Santaraj Gorakhpuri, were touched by the encouragement received from the CM. They fondly expressed that Maharaj is like a guardian to them.

Yogi mentioned that DK Gupta (Dinesh Kumar Gupta) was active in the world of journalism for three decades. He said that Gupta made a noteworthy contribution as a photographer.

Yogi shared that his death is a loss to society, especially to the world of journalism. He spoke about the late Santaraj Gorakhpuri’s distinctive identity in Bhojpuri singing. Extending his condolences, he said that his passing is an irreparable loss to the music industry. The minister prayed to Guru Gorakshnath for the deceased.

During his morning visit to the Gorakhnath temple premises on Wednesday morning, the CM arrived at the cowshed of the temple as usual. He spent some time in the cowshed. He fed the cows and directed the cowshed workers to take special care during this cold season.
