Stating that the INDIA alliance is well placed in taking on the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha Election, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that this time the saffron party will be defeated.
Addressing a press conference on the third day of his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra here on Tuesday, the Lok Sabha MP from Wayanad said that the status of INDIA alliance is very good. We are in talks with our partners and it is going on very smoothly”.
The issue of seat-sharing is being taken up and discussions are ongoing, and I think they are going quiet well. Let us see where those discussions end. But probably a lot of them are not complex discussions and I am confident they will be resolved soon,” he said.
“All political parties of INDIA alliance are united and any issues that arises will be resloved,” Rahul said retriating that “We will defeat BJP”.
On the recent virtual meeting of INDIA bloc where Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar refused to be the convenor of the alliance, the former Congress president said that the media was overplaying the issue and not reporting on how well the meeting went on.
“There is mutual respect and affection between the leaders of the alliance and the INDIA formation is an ideological formation. I am confident that all these small issues will be sorted out and we will fight against the BJP and defeat that party,” he asserted.
Rahul Gandhi said that the yatra is an idelogical yatra, it has been designed to place certain issues on the table and especially the injustice being metted out by the BJP to the people and he hoped that this Yatra will have the same success as the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
