It’s like a dream come true”, that’s how
Ms Nigar Shaji, the Project Director of Aditya-L1 spacecraft, India’s
maiden Sun mission, said on Saturday.
“My special thanks to the entire committee who had been there right
from the day the project started and till the launch. My thanks to all
those involved in the project”, she said.
Addressing the scientists after PSLV-C57 successfully placed the
spacecraft in a Low Earth Orbit after taking off from the Second
Launch Pad at SHAR Range here, she said she was extremely
happy that Aditya-L1 was placed in the precisely designated orbit.
“It feels like a dream coming true. Aditya L-1 has successfully
embarked on its 125-day journey”, a beaming Nigar, a native of
Shencottah in Tenkasi district of Tamil Nadu, said.
“As and when the Aditya L-1 fulfills all its mission objectives,
it will be an asset for the country and the global scientific
community”, she said and thanked the entire team for their full
support and guidance in making this mission–right from day one
to the successful launch– possible,”.
