Two policemen reportedly sustained injuries in a fresh exchange of firing between security forces and a group of terrorists on Thursday in Rajbagh area of Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.
On March 23, a brief encounter broke out between terrorists and a joint team of army, police and paramilitary forces in Sanyal village of Hiranagar in district Kathua.
But the terrorists managed to give a slip to the security forces.
“Encounter started this morning between terrorists and security forces in Juthana area of Rajbagh,” said official sources when the hiding terrorists fired on the search party.
They said that two policemen have also reportedly suffered injuries in the gunfight.
“Intermittent exchange of firing was in progress and the area was cordoned off,” they said.
“It cannot be ruled out that it is the same group of terrorists, believed to be five, spotted in Sanyal village and have moved to Rajbagh side taking advantage of dense vegetation in the area,” they said.
Meanwhile, dog squad, Para Commandos, helicopters and drones are also engaged while Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat is himself supervising the entire operation.
