J&K Police attach properties worth Rs 1.6 Crore under NDPS Act in Anantnag

Police have attached properties worth Rs 1.6 Crore of drug peddlers under the NDPs Act in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Police on Monday said that it have attached assets including a double storey concrete building and a concrete shops belonging to one Mushtaq Ahmed Ahanger, a resident of Hapatnaar Aishmuqam valued approximately Rs 1.3 Crore under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Ahanger is implicated in on-going narcotics-related offenses, and this action aims to dismantle his illegal operations.

In a similar action, police attached a Double-storey building with six concrete shops valued at around Rs 30 lakh in Sadoora, belonging to Bashir Ahmed Mir, an alleged habitual offender involved in multiple narcotics cases.

These decisive actions underscore Anantnag Police’s aggressive strategy to combat the drug menace by targeting not only offenders but also freezing assets acquired through illegal activities, police said.
