In a new revelation in the Kanjhawala case wherein a 20-year-old girl who died after her scooty was reportedly hit and dragged by a car, the Delhi Police on Tuesday claimed that the victim was accompanied by her friend during the time of incident.
The police, however, said her friend had fled from the spot.
Addressing a press conference at the Police Headquarters here, Sagar Preet Hooda, Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) said, “The police have traced her friend who accompanied the victim at the time of incident. Her statement was recorded.”
Multiple teams have been engaged in the investigation of the Kanjhawala case, police said earlier.
The forensic experts have been involved to examine the scene of crime. The teams collected evidence from the vehicles which would ensure successful prosecution.
On Monday, the Ministry of Home Affairs sought a detailed inquiry report into the Kanjhawala incident from Delhi Police, Sources said.
The five accused were sent to three days police custody for further investigation. The CCTVs footage was being collected to examine them, Hooda said earlier.
