Kharge calls for “unbiased journalism” on Hindi Journalism Day

Date:

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday extended greetings on Hindi Journalism Day and emphasised the need for “unbiased journalism” in the media.

In a video message, Kharge highlighted the significance of the day stating that on this day in 1826, the first Hindi newspaper “Udant Martand” was published from Calcutta (now Kolkata).

“Today is Hindi Journalism Day. On May 30, 1826, the first Hindi newspaper Udant Martand was published from Calcutta,” Kharge said.

“I congratulate the media friends on this occasion and expect them to do unbiased journalism,” the Rajya Sabha Leader of the Opposition said. UNI RBE SSP
