KTR condemns Ranjith Reddy’s defection, affirms confidence in BRS candidate for Chevella

Date:

K T Rama Rao (KTR), working president of Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) party and former Minister, has strongly criticised MP Ranjith Reddy for abandoning the party to join Congress, branding him a political opportunist.

KTR, in a meeting with former MLAs of Chevella parliamentary constituency, rebuked Reddy for prioritising personal power and business interests over party loyalty, a party statement said on Wednesday.

Despite significant support from the party in the 2019 parliamentary elections, Reddy’s defection has stirred controversy, with KTR stressing the importance of party unity.

KTR also cited Reddy’s contradictory actions during MLC Kavita’s arrest, accusing him of betraying the party’s trust.

Despite Ranjith Reddy’s departure, KTR reaffirmed the party’s commitment to its candidate, Kasani Gnaneshwar, praising his dedication to marginalised communities and expressing confidence in his victory in the upcoming elections.
