Mah. is a favourite destination for investment : Shinde

 Maharashtra state chief minister Eknath Shinde asserted that Maharashtra has become the favourite destination for investment in the country.

Shinde was speaking at the inaugural function of Maharashtra International Trade Exhibition organized by Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture (MACCIA) here on Friday evening.

He said that, central and State Governments are working in coordination. The state government is taking appropriate and positive decisions for the growth of the industry. Investments have started increasing in the state of Maharashtra as entrepreneurs have gained confidence, he felt.

State industries Minister Uday Samant, Deputy Managing Director of State Bank of India Praveen Raghavendra, Karunakar Shetty, Ashish Pednekar etc were present on this occasion.

The Chief Minister further said that, entrepreneurs of the state are the strength of the state. Many entrepreneurs from around the world who attended the investment conference held in Davos visited the Maharashtra Chamber.

Many businessmen have expressed interest in investing in the state, he said.

In this conference, MoUs worth around Rs 1.37 lakh crore were signed. Not only has the MoU been signed, but its implementation has been initiated. These agreements are not only for Mumbai, Pune, Nashik but also for the progress of remote areas of Marathwada and Vidarbha region. Land allotment and other facilities are being provided through the department, he said.

The state accounts for 15 percent of the country’s gross domestic income. It accounts for 20 percent of industrial production and about 30 percent of foreign investment. There are 12 lakh micro, small and medium enterprises in the state. 94 lakh people are getting employment through them. About 1.5 lakh new jobs will be created through new industries. Through the gatherings conducted by the Skill Development Department, employment is being provided, various stalled projects are getting a boost.

Samruddhi Highway is a green route. This highway will boost the industry.

The Chief Minister assured that the state government will provide all possible cooperation to invest in logistics parks and textile parks,he added.
