Maha: Tiwari takes a swipe at PM Modi

Date:

Maharashtra State Congress Party spokesperson Gopaldada Tiwari has pooh-poohed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s note after concluding his meditation at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial at Kanyakumari.

He pointed out that PM Modi never felt his responsibility towards the people of India to review the ‘Reforms, Transformation and Performance’ during his ten-year-long tenure and during his nation-wide trail of speeches and rallies for the Lok Sabha election.

Taking a dig at Prime Minister Modi, Tiwari quipped, “Should Modi’s failure to speak on the attempts and achievements made by him in maintaining the ‘Speed, Scale, Scope and Standard’ in policy making and governance over the last 10 years of his rule be considered misfortune of the country?”

He added, “When all efforts end, man surrenders before the God’s will. One may even realise his unforgivable mistakes, dilly-dallying and wrong decisions taken against the interest of the nation by meditating. However, it is afterthought.”

Tiwari quipped, “That Modi has recollected the resolves made by Swami Vivekanand in 1897 is good for him and also in the interest of the nation. Showing immense dedication for the nation, the father of the nation has transpired those resolves in reality and intensified the agitation against the British. Keeping these resolves in mind, he converted the Satyagraha agitation in a sacred ritual devoted to the nation. Congress Party and its leaders too joined him actively and with utmost dedication. A large number of freedom fighters embraced martyrdom for the noble cause. Consequently, India attained its freedom in 1947. Will Prime Minister Modi ever acknowledge this role played by Mahatma Gandhi and his struggle for freedom appropriately?”

In a media statement on Monday, Tiwari stated that the note written by the Prime Minister after his meditation at Kanyakumari which has been disseminated widely by the media, especially the print media, has prompted him to pray that Modi does not forget the idea of welfare state and Bapu Ji’s contribution to it.
