MEA in touch with Odisha govt, Nepali authorities over death of Nepali student at KIIT

 The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India, is in touch with the Odisha government and Nepali authorities regarding the tragic death of a Nepali girl student at KIIT University on Thursday night.

In a release, the MEA stated: “We are deeply saddened by the tragic demise of a Nepali student of KIIT University, Bhubaneswar.”

The ministry has extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of the student, who was found dead in her hostel room at KIIT University on Thursday night.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family during this difficult time,” the statement added.

The Ministry of External Affairs also said it has been in constant contact with the Odisha State Government since the incident occurred.

Furthermore, it noted that the Odisha Government has extended full support to the family of the deceased, and a thorough inquiry is currently being conducted by the Odisha Police.

“The Government of India takes the safety, security, and well-being of all international students very seriously,” the release emphasized.

“We remain in close contact with the Nepali authorities, the Odisha State Government, and KIIT management to ensure real-time communication and coordination,” the MEA concluded.
