Bahujan Vikas Aghadi (BVA) President and MLA Hitendra Thakur has urged the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to introduce a metro rail service between Vasai and Bhayandar.
He along with Nallasopara MLA Kshitij Thakur met a delegation led by Additional Metropolitan Commissioner K H Govindaraj and made the demand.
“In order to ease commuters’ travel woes, I request you to add Bhayandar-Vasai route in the same construction,” said Thakur in a letter. “Lakhs of people travel from Vasai travel to the island city. People face various types of difficulties during commute.”
Thakur also stressed the need to prioritise the construction of a bridge over the Naigaon-Bhayandar creek. He also proposed other infrastructural development for the Vasai taluka.
