The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday conducted searches at 15 different locations in several districts of Jammu and Kashmir in connection with two terror-related cases, officials said.
They said NIA sleuths with help of J&K Police and Central Reserve Police Force conducted searches in seven districts in the union territory.
In Kashmir, searches are underway in Srinagar, Pulwama, Awantipora, Anantnag, Shopian, and Kupwara districts. In Jammu raids are being conducted in Poonch district since early Saturday morning.
The searches are underway in two cases- one registered in NIA’s Delhi police station in 2021 and second registered in Jammu branch in 2022.
“ The searches are under way in two cases RC 3/21/NIA/DLI & RC 5/22/NIA/JMU,” officials said
One of the two relates to the hatching of a conspiracy, both physical and cyber space, and plans by the proscribed terrorist organisations to unleash violent terrorist attacks in J&K with sticky bombs, IEDs and small arms.
Over the last week, the NIA has stepped up its crackdown against militant outfits and their offshoots and affiliates operating in the Kashmir valley.
