Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday paid floral tributes to noted folk singer Sharda Sinha and ordered her state funeral.
Kumar reached the residence of Sharda Sinha in Rajendra Nagar locality of Patna where he paid floral tributes to the departed singer. He consoled the family members of Sinha and recalled her contribution to folk music. During her long career, she sang a large number of songs in Bhojpuri and Hindi films besides other songs for Chhath and other festivals, he noted.
Chief Minister directed the District Magistrate of Patna Chandrashekhar Singh to make all arrangements for the state funeral of the singer Sinha. She would be cremated on the bank of the Ganga river in Patna on Thursday.
Sharda Sinha died after a prolonged illness at All India Institute of Medical Science(AIIMS), New Delhi on Tuesday night.
