Date:

The opposition members on Monday staged a noisy walkout from the Bihar Assembly during pre-lunch sitting after raising various issues.

The opposition members raised various issues including increase in the amount of monthly social security pension, construction of boundary walls around Kabristan (graveyard) and rape of a girl of Sasaram in Banaras.

As soon as the house assembled for the day, the CPI-ML members along with some other members of the opposition parties raised the issues of the rape of a girl of Sasaram in Banaras and also tried to draw the attention of the house towards their demands for increase in the monthly social security pension.

Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav, however asked them to raise their issues at appropriate time and took up the question hour.

While replying to the starred question of Rajesh Kumar, Bihar Energy Minister Vijendra Yadav said that the members can repair and maintain the graveyards from their respective area development funds.

Kumar through his supplementary question said that it was a general fact that the boundary walls constructed around the graveyards get damaged and demanded for renovation of the graveyards.

He asked the Minister to amend the existing rules for getting the boundary wall repaired through MLA area development funds as there is no such provision for development of religious places through MLA area development funds.

To this, Yadav said that the MLA can ask the district magistrate of the area for the purpose.

Visibly annoyed with the reply of the Minister, the opposition shouted slogans and created noise. The opposition members, dissatisfied with the reply of the Minister regarding construction of boundary walls around graveyards trooped to the well and shouted slogans against the government.

Meanwhile the CPIML members were also seen shouting slogans from the well against the government regarding rape of a girl of Sasaram in Banaras.

The Speaker tried to pacify them but the slogan shouting opposition members staged a noisy walkout from the lower house.
